Charges and Business Hours

Parking Charges apply: Between the hours of  08.30 hrs and 18.30hrs – Monday to Saturday inclusive(Excluding Bank Holidays)

Hourly Parking

The charge for On-Street Parking and Short Term Car Parks is €1.00 per hour, with maximum stay of 2 hrs.

There are also All Day Car Parks which are €2.00 all day.

The All Day Car Parks are situated in the following locations

  • Earl Street Car Park
  • Harbour Point Car Park (Old Swimming Pool)
  • Ballymahon Street Car Park (Rear of Heaton’s)
  • Cathedral Car Park
  • Main Street Car Park (Entrance through Annaly Park)
  • Church Street Car Park
  • Little Water Street Car Park

All Day Parking also applies on Battery Road from St. John’s Church up to Tennis Court Lane

The Short Term Car Parks are situated in the following locations

  • Mollaghan’s Car Park (off Market Square)
  • Market Square Rear Car Park (Behind Centra)
  • Mill Car Park, Market Square
  • Geraldine Terrace Car Park
  • Camlin Court Car Park
  • Longford County Council Car Park
  • Town Centre Car Park (Tesco)

On-Street Parking

On-Street Parking applies to all streets at €1.00 per hour, maximum stay 2hrs.

• Red Pay & Display tickets are issued in all 2hr maximum stay areas. 
• Blue Pay & Display tickets are only issued in Town Centre Car Park (Tesco). 
• Yellow Pay & Display tickets are issued in All Day Car Parks.

Red zone tickets still in time may be used in Blue Zone (Tesco) Car Park
Blue zone tickets from Tesco may be used in Red Zone (2 hr Maximum) areas

Points to Note when parking your Vehicle

Please ensure that Pay & Display ticket is clearly displayed on dashboard of car.  Vehicles with no Pay & Display clearly on display will be logged for the courtesy 10 minutes.

Pay & Display tickets only cover parking in a Parking Bay and not in/on:

  • Loading Bays 
  • Double Yellow Lines 
  • Single Yellow Lines (business hours 08.30-18.30) 
  • Footway 
  • Taxi Rank 
  • Bus Stops 
  • Vehicles using a Disabled Parking Bay should clearly display a valid Disabled Persons Permit on dashboard of vehicle.

Parking in any of the above, or failing to display a valid Pay & Display ticket or a valid Disabled Persons Permit could lead to Fixed Charge Notice being issued.
