The Councils wish to inform both the owners and operators of quarries located either within the County or Town Council administrative areas and the general public that Section 75 of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Act 2010, inserting Section 261A into the Planning and Development Act 2000 and which relates to Quarries was commenced and came into effect on 15th November, 2011.

Notice is hereby given that Longford Town Council being the Planning Authority for Longford Town, has pursuant to the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000, made the Longford Town Development Plan for the years 2009 – 2015. This plan supersedes any Draft Longford Town Development Plan and the previous Longford Town Development Plan 2004 – 2010.
The Local Government (Charges) Act 2009 introduces a €200 annual charge on non principal private residences, payable by the owner(s) of the NPPR to the Local Authority in whose area the property concerned is located. The charge applies mainly to owners of private rental property and holiday homes. It also applies to vacant residential property unless newly built but unsold.
The Longford Heritage Forum, in partnership with the Longford Heritage Office want to hear your views and ideas about heritage for the preparation of the next Longford Heritage Plan. The Heritage Plan is a countywide action plan which aims to protect, enhance and promote awareness of heritage in Longford.
An online facility allowing you to pay for traffic fines is now available. Using this system you can enter the details found on the parking ticket and proceed to pay the fine outstanding. The system is designed to be user friendly and to make the payment process both simple and secure.
